At St Andrew’s School we aim to:

  • provide a relevant, liberal education focussing on Christian values, attitudes and behaviour so that these may influence each aspect of the School’s life in a manner sensitive to the diversity in religious and cultural backgrounds representative of the school community;
  • develop a transdisciplinary curriculum, through research and a study of the needs of students entering a world of constant change, which is developmentally challenging and engaging for students;
  • create an environment where students acquire and apply literacy and numeracy skills and knowledge;
  • develop a spirit of inquiry and the skills necessary to think critically and creatively;
  • assist students in understanding Australian history and culture, their own and that of other people and places;
  • encourage students, through a sense of care and commitment to the welfare of others, to initiate meaningful and responsible action in home, school and community;
  • provide opportunities which challenge students to become involved in leadership roles and activities of benefit to the Australian and international communities;
  • assist students, through example and practice, to be motivated to act responsibly in managing their own lives and so share in the joy of living while developing in body, mind and spirit.
