The families and staff of St Andrew’s School share a special sense of community, which has been compared to that of an extended family. The friendships made remain strong well beyond Year 7 and reflect the care, commitment and respect experienced throughout their learning journey at the School.
Past students are actively encouraged to support the life of the School as members of the St Andrew’s School Past Students’ Association and the Online Directory. As members, they continue to enjoy fellowship with their former classmates and teachers through reunions, special events and participation in the School’s calendar of activities.
We encourage our parents and families to be part of the day to day life of the School. During the course of the year, events such as Grandparents’ Day, St Andrew’s in Concert, the Year 5 exhibition and the Year 7 personal project presentations enable our students to showcase their skills and knowledge and share their discoveries.
We have an active volunteer programme with parents assisting under the supervision of teachers with reading, art, excursions and sport. Volunteers also work in the Tuck Shop, School Shop, Archives and Library.
The School offers an After School Care programme five days a week during school terms until 6 pm.
The St Andrew’s School Parents’ Association promotes cooperation and good relations between parents and the School and assists in raising funds for special School projects. A network of Class Representatives encourages social interaction across the year groups and a family buddy system helps new arrivals to find their feet. Three members of School Council are elected through the Parents’ Association.
The St Andrew’s School Foundation was established in 1988. The Foundation works in partnership with the School community and the broader community of Adelaide,
to encourage philanthropic giving to St Andrew’s School. Parents, past parents, past students and members of the public may serve on the Foundation Board. |
