Admission Policy
St Andrew's School
has an open admission policy and welcomes all children. Applications
are considered in chronological order of receipt.
Assessment to Determine Placement and Needs of Students
There is no preliminary
assessment of children attending the Early Learning Centre.
Thereafter, assessment will be undertaken in a variety
of ways, according to the age of the child. Emphasis will
be on anecdotal, verbal and observational assessment at Reception
and Junior Primary levels. Verbal and written assessment,
together with examination of work (if any) produced at a previous
school and current school reports will be considered at middle
and upper primary levels.
All applicants and parents will be interviewed by the Principal. If
entering at Reception level or above, an assessment will
be subsequently undertaken by the Deputy Principal (Administration)
to determine developmental readiness.
