At St Andrew’s School, we believe that the greatest learning occurs within a teacher/student relationship of mutual trust and respect. The individual learning styles of our students are sensitively and imaginatively supported.
The programme in our Early Learning Centre is inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy. The image of the child is central to this philosophy - a child who is curious, full of wonder, rich in resources, able to construct and co-construct his or her own learning. Teachers and students discover together the joy of learning.
Building on their ELC experience, children in Reception through to Year 7, focus on the Areas of Learning using the International Baccalaureate Primary Years and Middle Years frameworks. Students have the opportunity to continue their secondary education in national and international schools offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma. In addition the students are well prepared for entry into secondary schools within State and National systems. For more information on the IB frameworks visit www.ibo.org.
