Our International Students

The internationalisation of education enriches the life of St Andrew’s School by promoting an exchange of ideas and strengthening cultural understanding.

St Andrew’s School has an established programme for international students aged from 9 – 13 years, registered with CRICOS (Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students).  Our focus rests on an immersion English programme that embeds learning in all curriculum areas.  Students may join the School community for periods between one month and one year.  These periods may be extended and there is also the opportunity for re-enrolment to further enhance skills.   In recent years, we have welcomed students from many countries including China (Hong Kong and Taiwan), France, Germany, Singapore, South Korea, Russia and the United States.

Specialist teachers work alongside the classroom teachers to support individual learning needs, as well as implementing a practical ESL programme to accelerate understanding and build confidence.  Most students join the School as a result of family and friends referrals.

Homestay accommodation is the responsibility of the student’s parents, however a strong support network assists students to settle happily and smoothly into academic and social life.
