Where Bright Futures Begin

Dear St Andrew's Families
How beautiful it was to welcome our children and families back to St Andrew’s School this week. Smiling and happy faces, on children and parents. We have so many wonderful events, programs and occasions planned this year to continue building a strong community. I hope you had a restful and happy Christmas holiday season, and time to relax.
Last Wednesday 25 January, our School held its Parent Information Evening. It was wonderful to have staff and parents back onsite together, and ready to prepare and share information for a smooth start to the year. For some parents, we understand that the notice for this event may not have been sent to you via email, we apologise for this, and the data error has since been rectified. We also encourage you to regularly check Seesaw and the School App for important reminders and information as we will often communicate across multiple platforms. For others, Wednesday evening may have been an opportunity to have an extended break and head away, and for others again, there was a feeling of comfort as repeat parents for that year level, and so attendance may have been prioritised in different year levels. For the evening, all year levels prepared a PowerPoint which has been saved to your Seesaw post, so you can still view the evening’s slides.
As a School, we are starting the year with particular emphasis on wearing the correct School uniform. Please note on our website the opening hours of our School Uniform Shop, or the online shop, to update any clothing for the 2023 school year. Children will be reminded in class of their obligation to wear their uniform, either casual, formal or sports, in the correct manner. We thank you for supporting this as it does help to create a sense of pride and belonging.
With limited COVID restrictions in place, we are very keen to have our parents volunteering in many areas of the School when occasions arise. To be a parent volunteer you are required to have a valid Working With Children Check. As these may take several weeks to be returned, we encourage you to do this prior to an event where you may be invited to volunteer. To begin this process, please contact Bron Greaves on bgreaves@standrews.sa.edu.au
Our Parents’ Association is another area of the School that we welcome community involvement. If you would like to be part of the Parents’ Association, please contact Suzette Black, via email on sblack@standrews.sa.edu.au .
Have a lovely weekend.
