2023 School Sport SA SAPSASA sporting opportunities
North Adelaide District carnivals - Swimming, Cross Country and Track and Field
All information will be distributed by the convenor (Michelle Richter) to the School Sport Contact for these carnivals. Schools will trial their students and nominate students directly to the convenor prior to each carnival.
The first carnival for the year is the District Swimming carnival at the Norwood pool from 12.45pm to 2.45pm on Thursday 30 March. Schools may enter two swimmers for each event and age group. The NA District Cross Country will be held in Term 2 on 18 May at Park 9 North Adelaide and Track and Field is in Term 3 on 17 August at Bridgestone.
The following students are eligible to compete at these carnivals if selected by their school.
SAPSASA Under 10 students born in 2013
(District) Under 11 students born in 2012
Under 12 students born in 2011
*Please note, students who are born in 2014 are not eligible for selection.
Winners of each event at the district carnival will be selected in the North Adelaide team to represent North Adelaide at the State Championships (Swimming, Cross Country and Track and Field). Selected students will be sent an information letter via their school sport contact and will be asked to complete the consent and medical form via the QR code (at the bottom of the page)
From here, a South Australian team will be selected in each of the following sports: Swimming, Track and Field and Cross Country and students will be invited to attend the School Sport Australia National Championships held across Australia.

Schools will pass on an activity sheet with trial information for each sport during the year. Nominations are open to all students via the QR code below except for the following sports, Boys AFL, Boys Soccer, Boys Cricket and Girls Netball. As the numbers of students trialling are extremely large in these sports, each school is required to conduct an internal trial and nominate their strongest five participants. The nominated students will then be directed to nominate via the QR code (at the bottom of the page). Please note that there is a cost involved for participating in the State carnivals of approximately $90. Refer to activity sheets for each sport as they are released.
