Dear Families

There is a strong, almost tangible sense of connection and belonging at St Andrew’s School. This is weaved through the various elements of our School, from the students engaged in their learning spaces, the staff collaborating in their planning, old scholars reflecting with joy at the memories of their time as students and parents having fun at events such as the Welcome Drinks.

A rich tradition that builds connection and belonging in our school is the Induction Service of our Year 6 Student Leaders. A key scripture shared during the Service was from Mark 10: 43-45. ‘If one of you wants to be great, he must be the servant of the rest; and if one of you wants to be first, he must be the slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served; he came to serve and to give his life to redeem many people.’

I am a firm believer that connection and belonging is developed through service and an approach where we put others first. As we start our new year together, my hopes for this new chapter in our wonderful School are summed up beautifully in our School Prayer.

Almighty God,

May your Holy Spirit bless St Andrew’s School.

Give to the Students guidance and support.

To the Staff, strength and patience.

To the Parents, a sense of enjoyment and participation.

To the Board, wisdom and purpose.

May your Love influence all we do,

So that others, through this School, learn of your goodness

In the name of Jesus Christ, Our Lord

Amen
