Swimming Carnival
Our annual Swimming Carnival will be held on Thursday 9 March from 9.30am to 2.15pm at the North Adelaide Aquatic Centre.
This carnival gives all students in Years 3 to 6 an opportunity to participate in swimming and an object hunt, while some Year 6 students will contest the Diving Championship.
On Thursday 9 March children must be at the school by 8.35am, as buses will transport them to the pool at 8.45am. Children should arrive at school wearing bathers and a house coloured t-shirt or PE shirt/ uniform.
It will also be necessary for children to bring recess, lunch and a drink as the short interval will not allow sufficient time for children to go to the kiosk. As the PE department, we encourage children to eat healthy and also model healthy lifestyle choices. For this reason, we would like to ask parents not to purchase food from the canteen as predominantly the food is not nutritious.
The children will return to school after the event and normal lessons will resume. Please inform your class teacher before the day if you wish to take your child/ren home directly from the pool.
The children do not need to bring their school uniform.
For health reasons, we ask all children to wear their own St Andrew's swimming cap. These can be purchased via the Qkr! app. Once purchased, the cap will be delivered to your child's class.
