Professional Learning Teams

This year at St Andrew’s, we have rebranded our teaching teams as Professional Learning Teams (PLT). The primary goal behind this shift is to emphasise that our teaching teams are a valuable asset for our learning.

In teams, teachers engage in professional discussions, plan and create units within our curriculum framework, but most importantly, learn from one another.

The learning process can take various forms, such as researching teaching strategies, sharing practices, and lately, in Reception and Year 1, modeling and observing teaching practices.

The Year 1 team came together to observe a member of our Reception team using a particular teaching resource. This resulted in some insightful discussions, as well as further curiosity and questioning. As we encourage our students to be curious and risk-takers, our PLT are also modeling these same qualities.
