Reception Excursion - Belair National Park

Recently, the Reception children visited Belair National Park, where with the help of the Nature Play Educators, children got to experience making cubby houses using natural materials.

As the first excursion of the year, there was a great deal of excitement. Even the bus trip was considered very exciting, with one of the Reception children asking if we were in Melbourne now.

In connection with our Who We Are Unit of Inquiry, teams worked collaboratively to make decisions about the type of cubby house they would build and then worked together to do the building.

After construction had finished the children got to sit in their cubby houses and eat lunch together as well as explore other groups’ houses.

The time outside in the National Park to explore, construct and observe nature was a wonderful experience for all.
