Where Bright Futures Begin
As Term 2 draws to an end, it is timely to reflect on all the wonderful events, occasions and learnings that have happened around the School. It certainly has been a very festive and community minded term. At the same time, we are very much looking ahead towards Term 3, and also Term 4. Here are just a few little reminders, updates, or new information for you all to be aware of.
Camp Australia
We continue to look for ways to support families in the School and are also mindful of children’s safety and wellbeing. When children arrive before yard duties begin, at 8.10am, they are potentially unsupervised and unaccounted for if dropped off by a parent and not seen by staff. We are asking all families to enrol in Camp Australia so that we may better supervise children at the beginning and the end of the day.
When children are not collected by 3.45pm, our supervision of children is through Camp Australia in Rayner Building. At times, if children are not enrolled, supervision is done through the generosity of staff who may themselves have other commitments, meetings or are unsure of where each child may need to be.
We thank you for supporting this level of supervision and enrolling in Camp Australia, for those ‘just in case’ occasions.
Art Is…
In early Term 4, we will have the return of the Biannual, Art Is… whole school Art Exhibition. While this is a student focused event, we are also inviting a limited number of artists from our community who may like to exhibit at the event. Your medium could be from an any area of expertise. Early next term, we will send out expressions of interest where you may submit a photographic portfolio. In the past, we have loved the varied contribution from families to join with students, in this Art Is… exhibition.
We will also be asking for a small parent committee who may be able to assist with curating of the art, and to work alongside the Art Exhibition Committee. Please contact me via email cegarr@standrews.sa.edu.au if you are interested in joining this committee.
Photography of Children
With so many events on offer and opportunities for your children to shine, it is perfectly expected that you would photograph or video your child’s event or performance. This is a friendly reminder that you do not have permission to photograph or video other children and may not do so, unless expressly approved of by the child’s parents/ guardians. If you have inadvertently done this, we ask that you remove this from your digital device. We thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
Finally, wishing all our families a lovely holiday break. I hope you all enjoy some rest, some down time and are ready to return in Term 3 for a wonderful Semester 2.
