Tennis
We kicked off our tennis season with an away game on Friday 28 October versus Wilderness on their home courts. Congratulations to Jade, Gabby, Grace, Lucy and Eliza for starting the season with confidence and good form despite the very windy conditions. What an excellent result for the start of the new tennis season, and welcome back to Eva who joined the team this term.
On Friday the 4 November the St Andrew’s Girls Beginner Tennis team played against Pulteney on our home courts. Congratulations to all the girls who played.
St Andrew’s was the overall winner winning all singles and most of the doubles matches, defeating Pulteney.
The girls demonstrated great effort and endurance. Serving, specific techniques and scoring will be continued skills the coaches will concentrate on during practise sessions. Thank you to Mrs Biglands for scoring the game.
On Friday the 11 November the St Andrew’s Girls Beginner Tennis team played against Wilderness Pink on our home courts.
Congratulations to all the girls who played – Wilderness didn’t have a full team so St Andrew’s team stepped in and volunteered to support the other teams, which was pleasing to see.
I want to give an extra congratulations to Jade who offered to play extra games as well as play for the opposite team to have even numbers for games. What a great demonstration of excellent sportsmanship.
St Andrew’s was the overall winner defeating Wilderness.
Our second to last game of the season will be this Friday 18 November against Wilderness on our home grounds.
