Where Bright Futures Begin
From the Early Years
Celebrations in the ELC
It has been a wonderful year in the ELC and the last few weeks, in particular, have been filled with joy, celebration and community spirit as the year draws to a close….
Last Tuesday and Wednesday we welcomed our graduating Year 6 students to eat lunch with children from their ‘old’ ELC room, Tarragon, Rosemary or Lavender. Marie cooked up the all-time favourites: spaghetti bolognaise and butter chicken. The meals (and the company of course) lived up to the Year 6’s expectation with the children raving about Marie’s cooking and their wonderful memories of their time at the ELC.
The Reception play space came alive last Tuesday evening with the beautiful voices of our ELC children entertaining their families with their well-rehearsed Christmas carols. It was such a joy to look into the crowd and see the many proud, beaming faces watching their children. We especially appreciated families singing along!
The celebrations continued on Thursday as we held our bi-annual Learning Journey for the children moving onto Reception from ELC. Again, all families came to share in the celebration, watching their children perform, taking the time to explore Mantiri and Karrambi and sharing their favourite parts of the ELC journey. Marie had made a special ‘2022’ cake to signify the event, which of course the children enjoyed very much! We were delighted to see families taking this opportunity to reconnect with each other over afternoon tea.
On Wednesday of Week 9 we passed on our generously donated gifts to Star Bear and Anglicare for children who are not as fortunate as our own. It is a wonderful opportunity for our youngest learners to be able to demonstrate their compassion and empathy for others. Many parents have commented how much their children have enjoyed selecting a special gift.
We would like to thank our ELC families for their continued support and collaboration throughout this year. We are so grateful to share in the delight of your children.
